About the Author
AMIT GOSWAMI, Ph. D., is a retired professor of theoretical physics at the University of Oregon. He is a pioneer of the new paradigm of science called “science within consciousness.” In his seminal book, The Self-Aware Universe, he solved the quantum measurement problem elucidating the famous observer effect while paving the path to a new paradigm of science based on the primacy of consciousness. He is the author of nine books, including the textbook Quantum Mechanics, Physics of the Soul, Quantum Doctor, God is Not Dead, and How Quantum Activism Can Save Civilization. Quantum Economics Prooves Profit Motive and Social Good Are Intertwined

Adam Smith – the father of capitalism – would be very happy right now if he were able to read the intriguing and revolutionary new book by Dr. Amit Goswami, Quantum Economics: Unleashing the Power of an Economics of Consciousness. Indeed, Goswami resurrects Adam Smith and revitalizes capitalism in such a way as to pave the road to a world free from extreme economic booms and busts, the widening and debilitating gap between the superrich and poverty stricken, and a vanishing middle class that was supposed to grow under capitalism.
Make no mistake, Goswami heartily supports profit motive, but not just defined or restricted by the values of scientific materialism, or their lack thereof. Based on the principles of quantum physics and what he calls the Science of Consciousness, Goswami calls for the creation and/or expansion of subtle, vital energy products as well – those that enhance the processing of meaning (as opposed to mere information processing), feelings, intuition, and the foundational archetypes that drive fulfillment of our higher ethical and spiritual needs as well as the growth of human capital.
To bring this about on a truly universal scale, to craft a new paradigm for science that breaks the stranglehold of the materialist model that is largely responsible for the pervasive ills our world suffers today, to bring business into alignment with the progressive unfolding, evolutionary movement of consciousness, as is Goswami’s main purpose – these are not small tasks. Business in the world of consciousness

He appeared in the films What the Bleep Do We Know, The Dalai Lama Renaissance, and the award-winning The Quantum Activist.
Reading, or rather digesting, this book is an act of enlightenment. An attempt to review it seems to deprive the reader of the gradual immersion in Dr Goswami’s theories. But as a start we should remind ourselves of the meaning of quantum – and thanks to the resources of Wikipedia the term is defined as follows: ‘In physics, a quantum is the minimum amount of any physical entity involved in an interaction. Behind this, one finds the fundamental notion that a physical property may be "quantized," referred to as "the hypothesis of quantization". This means that the magnitude can take on only certain discrete values.’ And how does this relate to economics?
